We do not need condolences; let them join us in fighting this filth and the terrorists — Arbak Khachatryan

“This is not another escalation; this will be the last war, through which Turkey must be pushed out of this region,” analyst Arbak Khachatryan said in a conversation with First Informational.

In his view, now is not the time to talk about diplomatic omissions in previous years. According to our interlocutor, however, it is a fact that Armenia is now fighting alone against a terrorist state: “The situation in the world is difficult now; wherever the war had taken place, the reaction would not have been substantial. Over this year, the coronavirus has forced every state to think only about itself. Turkey’s, Erdogan’s aggression is a challenge to the entire world; it is surprising—why are Europe, the United States, and Russia silent? Erdogan’s impunity encouraged him to help Aliyev embark on an adventure,” he told First Informational.

In Arbak Khachatryan’s observation, the world is no longer the same: if this war had happened a year ago, perhaps the situation would have been different. “Changes in the financial system and rearrangements also played their part. Two years ago, inexperienced young people came to power in Armenia. They focused on domestic politics and recovering the looted wealth, while very little work was done in the outside world. But now is not the time to talk about that; it is not the time to look for enemies and our own people. The previous ones, too, were honest people who had fought, but how much they changed when they saw power and money. When diplomacy ends, weapons start firing.”

According to our interlocutor, all Armenians have risen today; the Armenian nation is fighting alone against terrorists and states with populations of many millions: “The only guarantee of our survival is our nation and our army. I feel that this is the last battle; the elimination of Turkey in the region and in the world must take place. This blow that the Armenian people are taking must end in victory. I asked the young people and intellectuals in Georgia to appeal to their spiritual leader, saying that if Turkey is with Azerbaijan, we, as a Christian country, must stand beside Armenia. We do not need condolences; let them join us in fighting that filth, terrorism. Do you remember? I spoke out about this danger back when Israel and Russia armed Azerbaijan. This was going to happen one day; only our strength is our support today.”
